Tutor

We are always looking for highly energetic and self-motivated individuals to be a tutor with us. Not only can you earn extra income, but you can also be part of an organization that aims to help change the world! Being a tutor with us means having a flexible schedule and there are no minimum or maximum grade level to teach.


Type of position:

Part time and permanent or temporary


Pay:

See our tutoring rates section as it depends on the grade level your student is. However, for every hour of tutoring completed, $1 must be donated back to us for elementary school students, and $2 for high school students. Check out our organization page to see where the donations go to.


Responsibilities:

  • Tutor assigned student
  • Communicate with organization's executives to ensure expectations are being met (via phone, email, or in person)
  • Donate a small portion of your paycheck to Tutoring 4 Change (see above section)

Requirements:

  • Be competent in subjects you want to tutor (which can be any subjects but mostly subjects listed in our services page.
  • Friendly, energetic, and self-motivated
  • Confident communicator and presenter
  • Innovative thinker who has strong problem solving skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to function in a self-directed environment at own pace
  • Ability to handle clients professionally in all situations
  • Ability to deal with confidential matters and use discretion
  • Be the age of 15 or older
  • Be motivated to change the world!

Not required, but are assets:

  • Previous experience with tutoring or teaching

Marketing Coordinator

This internship position is for post-secondary students majoring in marketing or a related field. You can get real work experience by working with us as a Marketing Coordinator.

Number of positions: 2

Note: this position is a volunteer position, but you will able to add it on your resume and get a reference.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist and advise executives regarding marketing strategies
  • Come up with ideas to further promote T4C
  • Help manage organization's social media platforms
  • Work with executives to solve various problems
  • Find better ways to manage projects
  • Communicate with corporate partners to ensure expectations are being met (via phone, email, or in person)

Requirements:

  • Skilled in marketing
  • Experience with social media management
  • Innovative thinker who has strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to function in a self-directed environment at own pace
  • Ability to work effectively under the pressure of deadlines and unexpected tasks
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to function in a self-directed environment at own pace
  • Ability to deal with confidential matters and use discretion
  • Be motivated to change the world!

Not required, but are assets:

  • Experience with Photoshop/Illustrator
  • Experience with web marketing
  • Working towards a university degree/diploma in marketing/business

Grant Writer

Note: this position is a volunteer position, but you will able to add it on your resume and get a reference.


Responsibilities:

  • Search for eligible grants and apply upon approval
  • Evaluate and seek opportunities for partnerships and sponsorships
  • Communicate with corporate partners to ensure expectations are being met (via phone, email, or in person)
  • Search for events to hold a booth at
  • Send out sponsorship letters/pick up donations
  • Follow up with sponsorships
  • Providing means of funding for events

Requirements:

  • Experience in acting as a company spokesperson
  • Be a proficient communicator
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Innovative thinker who has strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate with sponsors professionally in all situations
  • Ability to function in a self-directed environment at own pace
  • Must be a confident communicator and presenter
  • Ability to deal with confidential matters and use discretion
  • Be motivated to change the world!

Not required, but are assets:

  • Previous experience with grant writing

Public Relations Coordinator

This internship position is recommended for post-secondary students majoring in human resources or a related field. You can get real work experience by working with us as a Public Relations Coordinator.

Responsibilities:

  • Regularly communicates activities with public relations manager
  • Coordinate all public relations activities
  • Evaluate and seek opportunities for partnerships and sponsorships
  • Communicate with corporate partners to ensure expectations are being met (via phone, email, or in person)
  • Takes the lead for organization event planning
  • Providing means of funding for events
  • Ensures a means of secure funding for events

Requirements:

  • Experience in acting as a company spokesperson
  • Be a proficient communicator
  • Experience with event planning
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Innovative thinker who has strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to handle clients professionally in all situations

Human Resource Manager

This position is for post-secondary students majoring in human resource or related business field. You can get real work experience by working with us as a Human Resource Manager.

Number of positions: 2

Responsibilities:

  • Report and communicate to financial manager with updates regarding records and recruitment
  • Recruit and interview tutors and volunteers
  • Assist and advise the organization’s executive team during stages of recruitment
  • Organize organization's online folders

Requirements:

  • Ability to function in a self-directed environment at own pace
  • Innovative thinker who has strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively under the pressure of deadlines and unexpected tasks
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal, and verbal communication skills

  • Previous experience in recruiting volunteers or team members
